Please share these videos with others! The
first two are not specifically about trafficking but about the hope and healing
that comes through Jesus...the only one who can restore (and literally remake)
broken lives! The first video, featuring the song "Set Me Free" by Casting
Crowns, uses graphics that point out a truth about victims of sex trafficking in
the United States...most of them come from broken and abusive homes where they
were not able to form a sense of self worth or receive love. Not only are
these kids much more likely to develop emotional problems and commit suicide,
their woundedness is what pimps and traffickers prey on. MOST sex
trafficked teens are not kidnapped, they're lured by "Romeo pimps" who carefully
groom the victims through "love" and then turn them into prostitutes.
(Note: the video below, "You Are More" by Tenth Avenue North, may show a link that says the video
must be watched on YouTube...sometimes it plays on this site and sometimes it doesn't! Go figure...)
The estimated numbers are different in some of the videos...things are changing really fast in the world and trafficking is on the rise and some of the videos are a few years old. In addition, numbers are hard to estimate due to the hidden nature of the crime (just think of how many ACTUAL drunk drivers are on the road on any given Friday night as compared to the estimates and the ones actually caught...)
